Andrew stayed on something called c-pap all weekend. This is a good step off of the ventilator. Please pray for that to continue. Pray for Jim and me to be strong for Andrew and the rest of our dear family. Also, I desire to "be anxious for nothing", not an easy thing under the best of circumstances. Pray especially for David tomorrow, as he has a minor health problem to be taken care of.

I appreciate you all,
Laura

Laura,
It is in times like these that strength for a Mother must come only from God. He is our high tower, our refuge, and a very present help in times of need. We run to him when we feel we have gone our limit and find such strength and solitude in his care.
A Mother must develop the "cork attitude". The fishing cork takes such a beating when the swirls of river current take it below the surface into the dark depths of the water.
It's as if the vicious river will destroy it. Then as if by a miracle
when the cork passes through the depths of darkness it is finally released and pops to the surface with bubbling buoyancy.
As a Christian sometimes we hit those mean swirls of life that seem to pull us down and try to destroy us. But we must cling to God knowing the time of release will come as our God brings us bubbling back to the surface in victory over the depths of problems that we have encountered.
Andrew is a precious cork and he will pop up to the surface again with the wonderful bubbling buoyancy he has always had.
Our strength comes from God and he preforms miracles. I do love the Hilleke & Ayers family and am especially fond of Andrew. I'm continue in prayer for your needs.

Hello, Laura,
Thank you for being so faithful in letting us all know about Andrew's condition. Both of my sons went to Belhaven with Andrew; my husband and I had the wonderful blessing of meeting him when he came to visit in our home near Vicksburg, Mississippi. Since that time, he has visited with us on another occassion and we have enjoyed getting to know him. He is a wonderful Christian young man and we all love him and value his friendship so much.
I recently read something that I thought might be an encouragement to all of you:
"What is noteworthy in this drama [in the book of Job] is that God never directly answers Job's questions...He answers Job with Himself..." (R.C. Sproul)
Please know that our prayers and love remain with you all. And tell Andrew that his "Vicksburg family" sends their love and greetings to him.
Because of Jesus,
Carol McPhearson
